Homework Policy:

Students will have about one hour of homework each night. Students will receive a homework packet at the beginning of the week. This will be due on Friday. Students may also be assigned other work that will be written in their Dayplanner. It is very important to set aside at least 1 hour each night for school work. Parents are not encouraged to help with homework other than providing a time and a place to work, enforcing the homework hour, reviewing assignments, and signing Dayplanners and filling out forms. If a the assignment is taking longer than expected or the assignment in unclear or difficult, the student should stop after an hour of work and write a note explaining the difficulty. Homework is has many functions, this should be a time to practice skills learned in class, learn study skills and responsibility and provide a home-school connection.

Long Term Project:

In addition to the weekly homework, students will also be assigned one longterm project each quarter. This project is suppossed to be a fun and creative learning experience where the student has an opportunity to explore something they are interested in and practice time management skills.
